Never pay before delivery.
CheckPriceOf connects you with sellers and suppliers - we don't process payments or handle delivery. That means the same care you'd use buying from any stranger online applies here.
Don't pay before you receive or inspect the item
This is the single most important rule. Legitimate sellers will let you pay on delivery or after you've verified the item in person. If a seller pressures you to pay upfront by M-Pesa before you've seen anything, treat that as a warning sign.
Meet in a public, well-lit place
For in-person handovers, choose a busy location - a shopping centre, a matatu stage, a police station's public area - not a seller's home address on a first meeting.
Inspect before you pay
Check that the item matches the listing - condition, model, quantity - before money changes hands. For electronics, power it on. For building materials, check quantity and quality against what was quoted.
Keep the conversation on record
Use WhatsApp or email rather than agreeing to switch to an untraceable channel. If something goes wrong, a paper trail of what was promised matters.
If a price looks too good to be true, it probably is
Compare the offer against the prices already shown on CheckPriceOf. A listing priced far below every other supplier for the same product is the most common bait used in advance-fee scams.
